Terry Harris is a supply chain strategist and engineer. He specializes in designing supply chains for manufacturers, distributors and retailers that provide in increased market share and earnings. Supply chain components he orchestrates include inbound logistics, plant and warehouse networks, inventory deployment, transportation, warehouse operations and customer service. He specializes in capturing the interdependencies of these components.
Terry designs supply chains that are tailored to customer behaviors—the way customers buy and switch between suppliers, He has designed fact-based research techniques to discern these behaviors and software to measure its effects on market share. He’s intimately familiar with the differences between theory, planning, implementation and achieving real goals in complex organizations with shifting priorities.
Terry has been an active member of CSCMP and WERC for over 25 years. He has written important material in leading publications including the Harvard Business Review. He is an often quoted and frequently interviewed authority on supply chain matters.
He has an MS degree in Management Sciences from Northwestern University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois. Terry competes internationally in freestyle wrestling. At the Worldwide Veterans Championship he won the Gold medal in Sarajevo in 2013 at 76 Kilograms, Division G.
